SXSW 2014

TOKYO--()--Satoshi Nakajima (Seattle) and ZEPPELIN Inc. (Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan) (http://en.zeppelin.co.jp), recently launched their VideoShader app in the market. The team is currently touring the US and has exhibited at the SXSW Interactive Tradeshow in Austin, Texas.

Released in January and available for download now on iOS platforms, VideoShader allows users to experience creating and editing photos and video content in real-time using artistic filters. The surreal experience of looking at the world through a different lens is quite novel, since most other video apps allow processing to happen after the footage has already been taken.

The app allows users to share their videos directly to Facebook. There is also a social feature for viewing publicly shared videos on VideoShader's timeline. This can be a great way for aspiring artists and videographers to showcase their videos and garner attention. For artists, there is also an option to create and name their own custom filters as a means of creative expression.

Just like HDR photographers obsess over capturing the beauty of a moment or scene using special cameras and techniques, users can now capture detailed footage of their lives in the same artistic manner. With the rapid advancement in wearable technology, and products like Google Glasses becoming pervasive, Zeppelin intends to incorporate their app into those devices in the near future. Other plans include incorporating the VideoShader technology with products in the sports or adventure industries - potentially including bike helmets, augmented reality HUDs for cars and more.

Three people developed VideoShader, including Satoshi Nakajima, founder of UIEvolution; Kohei Torigoe, the CEO of ZEPPELIN, and Daiki Ito. A video demo can be seen here: http://bit.ly/1qc0zE3. The app is available to download for free on the App Store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/videoshader/id790784885?mt=8)
