Mr. Barger has 25 years of experience advising organizations and their counsel on a range of technology-related assignments, principally in the natural resources and financial services sectors. At BDO Consulting, he will manage litigation and investigative matters involving data analytics, computer forensics and e-discovery, and provide expert witness testimony.

Mr. Barger has 25 years of experience conducting complex fraud investigations, including serving as a Special Master in computer forensics and e-discovery matters and as a Monitor appointed by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CIFIUS). Adept in the analysis of electronic evidence to detect anomalies, Mr. Barger is experienced in matters involving fraud, waste and abuse initiatives, embezzlement, financial reporting fraud, fictitious vendors, money laundering schemes and the tracing of assets. He also provides litigation readiness services, which include data mapping and process flow automation.
Prior to joining BDO, Mr. Barger led the national Forensic Technology Services practice at a major accountancy network and was a Director in the Forensic practice for a Big Four accounting firm. He also held Special Agent and Digital Forensics and E-Discovery positions at the Department of Treasury and Department of Justice. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, in addition to a Certified Forensic Examiner, Certified PDA Examiner, and Certified Cellular Telephone Examiner. Mr. Barger earned both his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Master of Forensic Science from National University.
