GroundFloor Media Announces New Leadership Team to Support Agency’s Continued Growth

Jeremy Story joins firm; Jim Licko and Gil Rudawsky promoted

DENVER--()--GroundFloor Media (GFM), a Denver-based marketing communications agency specializing in strategic communications, digital & social media strategy and crisis communication & reputation management, announced today the expansion of its leadership team with the hiring of Jeremy Story and the promotion of long-time GFM team members Jim Licko and Gil Rudawsky. Licko, Rudawsky and Story will serve as vice presidents, joining founder Laura Love and president Ramonna Robinson as the senior leadership team of the growing marketing communications agency.

“GFM is a special and unique place to work – the best place to work in America according to Outside magazine, and as we continue to grow, our culture remains paramount,” said GFM President Ramonna Robinson. “We’re confident this is the right team to spearhead our growth and preserve our culture as GFM enters its 14th year of business. Jim and Gil have shown outstanding leadership skills as they’ve led the development of GFM’s social media and crisis communication service lines, respectively, and Jeremy has been a leader in Denver’s PR community and a friend of GFM for years.”

In March 2013, GFM announced that Love would step aside and assume the role of chief cultural officer, while then-vice president Robinson took over as president. Joining the leadership team as vice presidents, Licko, Rudawsky and Story will focus on providing excellent client service, developing new business opportunities and supporting key agency operational functions.

Story comes to GFM with nearly 20 years of experience, including time with agencies and in the corporate setting. His agency work includes co-founding Story + Welch, and serving as vice president at Weber Shandwick. On the corporate side, Story was director of corporate communications at StorageTek and Sun Microsystems and was a director of public relations with US West. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism from Baylor University and conducted his graduate studies in journalism and integrated marketing communications at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Licko joined GFM in 2009. Most recently he was the agency’s senior director of social media and digital strategy, and in that role, Licko led the development of GFM’s proprietary Online War Room® social media crisis simulator. Previously, he worked for Pete Webb Public Relations and was vice president of public relations at MCS. He started his career as a broadcast news reporter and later a sports reporter/anchor at KWWL-TV in eastern Iowa. Licko earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic media and public relations from Wartburg College.

Rudawsky joined GFM in 2009 as a senior director of communications after two decades of news reporting and editing. This vast media experience translates into expert counsel for GFM’s clients, especially in the areas of crisis communication, issues management, media training, strategic counsel, social media and messaging. Rudawsky is also a regular contributor for PRDaily.com focusing on crisis communication issues. He served as an editor on the business and metro desks of the Rocky Mountain News until the newspaper closed. He also worked at newspapers in Aspen and Boulder, Colo., and Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and attended the University of Colorado Graduate School of Journalism.

GFM has grown from Love’s basement in Boulder in 2001 to one of the largest marketing communications firms in the Rocky Mountain Region with headquarters in historic LoDo, in the heart of Denver. The agency’s clients range from small nonprofit organizations to Fortune 500 companies and are based in Colorado and throughout the U.S. While agency specialties include food & beverage brands, health & wellness organizations and Colorado-based companies in GFM’s 38 & West program, the firm also works with companies in the following sectors: technology, telecommunications, finance, government and tourism.
