NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alexandra Harkness Normington has joined the Chicago office of strategic healthcare communications firm Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock, Inc., officials announced today.
Normington will serve as a senior advisor to the firm’s clients, bringing them blended expertise in health policy and public affairs, as well as media relations and communications.
With offices in Nashville and Chicago, Jarrard Inc. is the premier strategic communications firm for hospitals and health systems experiencing a time of significant change, crisis or opportunity.
Most recently, Normington served as public relations manager for the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC), which represents more than 170 hospitals and healthcare organizations in the greater Chicago area. There, she developed and implemented media and public relations strategies for the association, as well as for the state’s poison center and insurance co-op.

Previously, Normington was a public information officer for the state of Minnesota, where she acted as a liaison to the media and worked on statewide communications plans, and an assistant assignment editor at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, where she planned news stories and managed weekend news crews.

A native of Eau Claire, Wisc., Normington earned a master’s degree in public health from New York Medical College and a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Minnesota.
