INDIANAPOLIS--()--Family owned and Indiana-based Salin Bank and Trust Company today announced expanded hours for its new interactive teller machines. In the past year, customer use of the new Salin Live Teller℠ machines has more than doubled, prompting the bank to expand its hours. Salin Live Teller drive-up locations throughout the state will now be open until 9 p.m.

Salin Bank was the first financial institution in Indiana to offer this new technology. Utilizing technology similar to the Apple® iPhone’s FaceTime™, this new video-based interactive service allows customers to conduct transactions and receive banking services with a live, centrally based teller who has complete control of the interactive teller machine. Salin Bank’s remote tellers are all located in Indiana.

The video and audio connection enables customers to complete 95 percent of transactions that can be done inside a branch. Because of the interactive teller technology, Salin Bank can offer these services well beyond traditional branch hours; tellers are now available on the interactive teller system from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays at Salin Bank’s drive-up locations. The Salin Live Teller drive-up locations are in Fishers, Lafayette, West Lafayette and Fort Wayne.

“This technology is at the forefront of the future of branch banking,” says Bill Salin, II, president and chief executive officer of Salin Bank. “We decided to offer our clients expanded hours because they want a bank that meets their financial needs when it’s convenient for them – both early and late in the day. With the Salin Live Teller, we have been able to do this without losing the personal touch that customers have come to expect from Salin Bank.”

Salin Bank plans to introduce additional interactive teller machines in other markets later this year.
