Settle, an information technology executive with more than 25 years of experience in managing technical innovation, organizational change and global business unit performance, has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
Settle will manage and direct information technology (IT) strategy and operations globally to enable continued successful profitable growth of IHS as the company continues to serve the digital needs of its customers in a dynamic, global business environment. With overall responsibility for the entire enterprise IT function, Settle will ensure that the company’s systems and infrastructure anticipate both current and future needs, are scalable with continued IHS growth, and are efficient and secure while employing innovative data strategies and architectures.
Settle comes to IHS from BMC Software where he was responsible for delivering new business functionality to internal user groups and leveraging virtualization technologies to improve the performance and utilization of BMC’s product development. He has served as the CIO of five Fortune 500 companies and worked in a variety of industries including enterprise software, consumer products, high-tech distribution, financial services and oil and gas. He has supported the global business operations of companies with high transaction rates and stringent “up time” requirements, including Visa International, Arrow Electronics, Corporate Express, Occidental Petroleum and ARCO.
