WALLINGFORD, Conn.--()--While the world focuses on the Seattle Seahawks, Mutualink, Inc. congratulates the Super Bowl security team for its flawless execution of a well-planned operation. Mutualink’s technology served as the interoperable communications and information sharing platform for the Super Bowl, enabling real-time collaboration and multimedia resource sharing across agencies, jurisdictions, and state borders during the big game and surrounding events.

Super Bowl XLVIII, held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, featured unprecedented inter-agency collaboration. This was possible in part because of Mutualink’s technology, which enables secure interoperable resource sharing of radio, video, voice, and data across incompatible systems. Numerous entities were connected and able to share multimedia information, including local/state police, fire, Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), transit, hospitals, utilities and federal agencies.

New Jersey is very familiar with Mutualink’s technology, having the highest concentration of Mutualink installations of any state. This pre-existing interoperable capability among many New Jersey and neighboring agencies made communications planning and preparations for the Super Bowl easier, since it was not a new technology being installed, configured and tested for the first time. Extensive preparation among the New York and New Jersey stakeholders, including multi-jurisdictional exercises and scenario planning, provided an elevated level of information sharing and collaboration attributable to the experience that the agencies already have with the platform.

“There was a big win at the Super Bowl off the field,” said Robert Wright, Mutualink’s Business Development Director in the New York and New Jersey region. “We’ve been working with federal, state and local officials to plan for this event for months, and the preparation clearly paid off. The New Jersey State Police managed one of the most complex Super Bowl security operations ever, ensuring seamless and secure multimedia communications interoperability throughout the region among dozens of critical response agencies. Everyone involved planned carefully and provided an incredibly safe event.”
