CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WoodWorks, an initiative of the Wood Products Council, will announce the winners of its 2014 National Wood Design Awards at the Southeast Wood Solutions Fair in Charlotte, NC on January 29, 2014 and the Southern California Wood Solutions Fair in Long Beach, Calif. on February 26, 2014.
“The Wood Design Awards showcase outstanding projects that bring to life wood’s natural beauty and versatility in building design,” said Jennifer Cover, PE, Executive Director of WoodWorks. “We received 140 submissions from across the U.S., more than any previous year, which were evaluated by a jury that included two architects and a professional engineer. The winners exemplify the many ways wood products can be used to create outstanding architecture. These are inspiring projects that demonstrate ingenuity in design or engineering, as well as attributes of wood such as cost effectiveness, sustainability and structural performance."
