WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Whether it's singing or free-styling to one of GEICO's pre-recorded soundtracks, now is the time for students to put their filmmaking skills to use and create a music video for GEICO's Distracted Driving Music Video Contest.
GEICO is encouraging students (ages 14-18) to spread awareness about the dangers of distracted driving by entering its music video contest. The video should promote distracted-free driving such as texting, talking on the phone, eating and grooming while driving. Students must add their own original lyrics and use one of GEICO’s pre-recorded soundtracks, which can be downloaded from the GEICO Music Video Contest website.
Videos must be submitted online no later than Friday, Jan. 24, 2014. The national winner will receive a $1,500 cash prize and additional cash prizes will be awarded to top finalists.
In a related contest, GEICO is also inviting students (ages 6-18) to submit a T-shirt design that depicts how to prevent distracted driving. The design can be hand-drawn or computer-generated and showcase any or all forms of distractions such as texting and talking on the phone, eating, grooming, and adjusting the radio or GPS navigations while driving.
