LITITZ, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUSQ) is pleased to announce that it has hired Kevin J. Burns as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer.
In this role, Burns is responsible for enterprise risk management, corporate compliance, security, information security administration, business continuity, insurance risk management, community reinvestment, and credit review. Based at Susquehanna’s corporate headquarters in Lititz, PA, he serves as a member of the company’s executive management team, reporting to the Risk Committee of Susquehanna’s Board of Directors.

With more than 18 years of experience, Burns worked most recently as Director, Governance, Regulatory and Risk Management for Deloitte & Touche’s national banking and securities practice while based in Chicago. He has also worked in risk management for Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase & Company and ABN AMRO/LaSalle Bank.
Burns earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, MN, a master’s degree in economics from the University of Nebraska, and has completed Ph.D. coursework in economics at the University of Delaware.
