SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Investopedia, the leader in online financial education and a ValueClick Brands site (Nasdaq:VCLK), has selected Xignite, Inc., the leading provider of market data cloud services, to provide real-time market data to power the Investopedia website, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad apps.

As more consumers seek to take control of their financial futures, Investopedia made the decision to expand their web and mobile apps capabilities to provide users with better data and tools to make informed investing decisions. As part of the enhancement, Investopedia chose to replace their previous market data vendor and selected Xignite.

Xignite’s Market Data Cloud is the underlying platform that supports the real-time market data, analysis, and comparison engine tools available on the Investopedia website and mobile apps. Investopedia has integrated Xignite’s market data into channels available for all stock symbols. The information provided on the Quotes, Charts, Analysis, Options, and Historical channels arm users with data and tools to make informed investing decisions.

“A big factor in our decision to choose Xignite was the fact that their market data solutions are cloud-based,” said Mark Ly, VP of Operations & Technology for Investopedia. “By delivering the data as APIs, we knew this would speed up deployment time, reduce our development costs while helping us provide a better experience to our users.”

“We are thrilled to be powering the new Investopedia website and apps,” said Stephane Dubois, Founder and CEO of Xignite. “We—like millions of other users—use Investopedia every day to better understand the markets and stay abreast of new trends and development and it is exciting to be able to help Investopedia provide better value and content to their users.”
