INDIANAPOLIS--()--Closure Systems International’s (CSI’s) latest closure, capping and technical service offerings will be highlighted at Drinktec 2013, Hall B3 - Stand 331, in Munich, Germany, beginning September 16, 2013. Plastic and metal closure and capping solutions for carbonated soft drinks, bottled water, non-carbonated beverages such as juices, sport drinks, and ready-to-drink teas, liquid dairy drinks and beer, wine, and spirits will be highlighted in CSI’s stand.

CSI’s ScanCap closures which incorporate new digital technology to enable smart phone mobile marketing will be displayed at Drinktec. With this advanced technology, CSI is able to apply an unlimited number of 2D bar codes (QR codes) under or on top of bottle caps in sharp definition. ScanCap changes the paradigm of under-the-cap promotions by allowing beverage companies to interact directly with consumers at the point of consumption.

Weighing just 1.9 grams, Omni mini XP 28mm is CSI’s newest CSD closure. This cap is believed to be the lightest, best performing carbonated soft drink closure available in the marketplace today. Despite its ultra-lightweight, Omni mini XP is engineered to enhance application performance which results in lower defect rates and higher productivity. It also has best-in-class CO2 retention, improved impact performance and passes all protocols of CSI’s most stringent customers.

Sports-Lok mini 26mm and 28mm LW closures perfectly meet the demands of today’s highly mobile, on-the-go consumers while providing improved bottler efficiencies and environmental friendliness with their lightweight designs. Another example of an environmentally friendly closure is CSI’s Aqua-Lok mini 26mm LW bottled water closure. This cap weighs less than one gram, providing advanced sustainability performance. CSI’s lightweight closures maximize source reduction, reduce carbon footprint and use recyclable resins.

For hot-filled, cold-filled and aseptically-filled non-carbonated beverages and dairy drinks, CSI will feature a variety closures at Drinktec. Included will be CSI’s versatile, new Extra-Lok V 38mm ODU closure. This “universal” cap provides excellent performance for multiple filling applications, multiple bottle materials and multiple bottle finish wall thicknesses while weighing 18%+ less than competitive two-piece closures. Another new lightweight CSI closure is Asepti-Lok V 38mm 3S LF. This profile is a 3-start, one-piece closure, ideal for aseptically-filled juices, nectars, sport drinks and ready-to-drink teas. Asepti-Lok V 38mm 3S LF has excellent venting properties built into the design, providing anti-blow-off protection for advanced consumer safety.

CSI’s metal closure portfolio complements brand packaging with beautifully decorated four-color process side and optional under-the-cap printing. For example, CSI’s Long-Caps are aesthetically pleasing and elegant while providing tool-free opening and re-sealability for wines, spirits, and other adult beverages.

In addition to CSI’s portfolio of lightweight and advanced performance plastic and metal closures, CSI’s capping equipment and expert technical services help customers to optimize their bottling operations. CSI capping systems are industry-leading in high-speed, high-performance application. With its full stainless steel and modular construction, CSI’s new Series 5000 Combi Capping Machine is recognized in the industry for its reliability, low maintenance, and flexibility. Series 5000 Combi allows plastic closures and metal roll-on caps to be applied on the same capper using the same spindles.
