Network Redux Hosts Website with Emergency Information for Portland-Vancouver Area Residents

PublicAlerts.org joins company’s growing roster of hosted sites

PORTLAND, Ore.--()--Network Redux, a leading managed service and Web hosting provider, has been selected to host and maintain PublicAlerts.org, a website administered by the City of Portland on behalf of the region, including Clackamas, Clark, Columbia, Multnomah and Washington counties.

PublicAlerts.org provides information about emergencies and service disruptions involving roads and bridges, transit, public health, public safety, utilities, community services, schools, and weather. The site also allows residents to sign up to directly receive alerts when the community emergency notification system in their neighborhood is activated. In the event of a major Pacific Northwest disaster also affecting the Network Redux Seattle data center, the site would automatically transfer service capability to the company’s Washington, D.C., location, ensuring that critical news and alerts would continue to be available.

PublicAlerts.org is directly administered by the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management with support from the Portland Bureau of Technology Services.

“As a local company, we are more than happy to support the effort to create a more engaged and safer region,” said Thomas Brenneke, president and founder of Network Redux, “and we’re delighted that the City has chosen Network Redux to host the PublicAlerts website.”
