JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--()--Winn-Dixie’s Beef People social media game was so successful, it is offering it again and expanded it to be mobile and tablet compatible. Winn-Dixie beefed up social media with the rollout of “The Beef People - Best Beef in the Land Instant Win Game and Sweepstakes” on its official Facebook page during July. More than 46,000 played the game and one lucky South Florida winner won steak for a year. Due to the popularity, Winn-Dixie is running the game a second time during August, giving beef fans another shot at free steak.

“The Beef People Social Media Game was a terrific way for us to reinforce our position as Beef People and introduce WD Brand Choice Angus Beef,” said Mary Kellmanson, Winn-Dixie’s senior vice president of marketing. “Beef fans had so much fun we decided to bring it back for a second time and add mobile and tablet formats, doubling the opportunity to win free steak!”

Current and future Winn-Dixie customers who “like” Winn-Dixie’s Facebook page will be introduced to six cuts of beef that Winn-Dixie offers, specifically filet, NY strip, sirloin, flank, T-bone and rib eye. Flipping and, hopefully, matching three out of six cuts of meat on the virtual Winn-Dixie grill wins. Winn-Dixie awarded prizes to 186 winners, providing gift cards for steaks in denominations of $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100 in addition to one person winning Free WD Brand Choice Angus Beef for a year.

Through the new August promotion, there is a total of $5,000 in prize assets to be awarded throughout the sweepstakes, including the chance to win free WD Brand Choice Angus Beef for a year, as well as multiple instant winners daily with gift card giveaways ranging from $5 to $100. Winn-Dixie customers can participate by trying their luck once a day until August 31.
