Crafter Software Introduces Two New Web Experience Management Offerings

Crafter Profile and Crafter Social to Improve Customer Engagement Across Online Channels

RESTON, Va.--()--Crafter Software Corp., a leading provider of software solutions for the creation of rich and engaging websites, mobile applications, and multi-channel digital experiences, today announced the availability of two new modules of the Crafter Web Content and Experience Management solution. Crafter Profile and Crafter Social empower business and IT users with the key features necessary for adding user interactivity and social engagement to next generation enterprise websites and mobile apps. The new offerings provide mid-to-large size companies the capacity to quickly and easily modernize their websites to meet the demands of today’s digital consumers.

With Crafter Profile, website developers can easily add user login and user profile management to website applications. The module enables web developers to create secure login features and gather user profile information for use in targeting and personalization. This module also provides user login via social media channels, so users can access company web properties using their Facebook, Twitter, and/or other social network credentials – providing greater convenience for consumers while giving marketers access to social information. Crafter Social enables website developers to easily add social engagement features to website applications, including comments, ratings, discussion forums, blogs, wikis, and more. Both modules are open source, Java-based solutions. Crafter Social is integrated with Crafter Profile.

“Engagement is the name of the game for businesses aiming to improve their web and mobile presence. Crafter Social and Crafter Profile are specifically designed to enable our community users and enterprise customers to build sites that engage visitors, deliver personalized and dynamic web experiences, and enhance customer loyalty,” said Mike Vertal, CEO of Crafter Software. “Using these new modules, our customers continue to be on the cutting edge of what’s possible in terms of optimizing their websites to provide the best possible user experience.”

Crafter Software’s solutions are offered as both a Community Edition under the GNU General Public License and as an Enterprise Edition with a commercial license and global support. The Enterprise Edition provides leading organizations with a certified, supported stack that is thoroughly tested against various operating systems, databases, and enterprise platforms to deliver best-in-class web content and web experience management. Crafter Profile and Crafter Social work together to offer superior user login, user profile management and social engagement features:

Crafter Profile is built on MongoDB for extensibility and extreme scalability and includes a multi-tenant profile attribute store, an admin console for user profile management, and chained authentication with any existing authentication services including Active Directory, TAM, Crowd, and Open Social. In addition, Crafter Profile can easily extend existing profiles without interfering with core repositories.

Crafter Social is also built on MongoDB and offers a highly scalable, multi-tenant social content repository that can support any type of user-generated content (UGC). Hierarchical structures are supported as well as fine grained permissions. There is an admin console for management and moderation as well as out of the box models for common UGC, such as threaded comments, ratings, blogs, and discussion forums.

"Crafter Profile and Crafter Social are two outstanding examples of solutions that will help drive further adoption of MongoDB," said Matt Asay, VP of Strategy and Business Development from 10gen, which provides commercial support for MongoDB. "Both user data management and social content management are great examples of how MongoDB can be used to provide the flexibility and scalability needed to grow with a company’s Web demands. We are looking forward to working with Crafter Software as they continue to develop solutions leveraging MongoDB."
