HIT Application Solutions Announces New CMIO

Company appoints Betty Jo Bomentre, MD, PhD, PMP as CMIO to provide leadership and guidance for the development and implementation of automated, intelligent notifications

EXTON, Pa.--()--HIT Application Solutions (HIT), a leading provider of healthcare communication technologies, announced today that Betty Jo Bomentre, MD, PhD, PMP, has accepted the role of Chief Medical Information Officer. Bomentre brings extensive experience in the healthcare industry, especially in the areas of analysis, design, implementation, Informatics and adoption of healthcare information systems.

Prior to joining HIT, Dr. Bomentre served as the executive and physician clinical consultant at Vitalize Consulting Solutions, a leading IT consulting group for the healthcare market. During her time at Vitalize, she acted as a project manager and interim CMIO for North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, MetroHealth Medical Center and John C. Lincoln Healthcare System, where her responsibilities included the training and optimization of clinical applications and management of thousands of physicians and clinical personnel.

Bomentre also served as physician champion for the ED clinical project management for Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas. Her experience at Memorial Hermann will be a great asset to HIT moving forward, as she was responsible for ensuring positive physician adoption of the Cerner ED environment. As the manager of clinical consulting at ACS Healthcare Consulting, a provider of digital business transformation services to the healthcare industry, Dr. Bomentre was the Physician Champion for the largest Epic Implementation in Northern California and lead the Clinical Consulting Team’s “Clinical Process Redesign” and Physician Readiness and Adoption. She also served as the Interim CMIO at the largest Pacific Rim Healthcare System in Hawaii during her time with ACS.
