Avinor Selects IFS for Quality Assurance Reporting

LULEÅ, Sweden--()--Regulatory News:

IFS (STO:IFSA) (STO:IFSB), the global enterprise applications company, announces that Avinor has chosen IFS solutions for health & safety, quality assurance (QA), and risk management to streamline HSEQ-related (health, safety, environment, and quality) reporting. Avinor is a state-owned company that operates most of the civil airports in Norway, including three control centers, control towers, and technical stations. The contract includes licenses and services worth approximately NKr 10 million.

Following Avinor’s decision to implement IFS Applications 8 in December 2012, the company has chosen to implement the components IFS Health and Safety™, IFS Quality Assurance™, and IFS Risk Management™. Avinor selected IFS to replace its internally developed system after a public procurement and evaluation process.

The solution will enable Avinor to integrate mission-critical processes such as nonconformance reporting into the overall ERP environment. Leveraging mobile smartphone apps for field reporting and OLAP cubes for data processing, the system will be used by some 3,900 Avinor employees working at 46 airports all over Norway.

“We chose IFS because we wanted a consistent and user-friendly system that could handle incident reporting, preparation of statistics, and electronic reporting to authorities. We also wanted the ability to use such information in our risk assessment. The solution will give us a noticeably better decision-making tool and will improve our security-related work,” says Dag Falk-Petersen, CEO, Avinor.

“Airport operators such as Avinor must comply with stringent regulations, making HSEQ and nonconformance reporting crucial business processes,” IFS Scandinavia CEO Glenn Arnesen said. “By extending its central IFS solution to include these processes, Avinor will benefit from enhanced transparency and increased business control.”

The IFS solution will be equipped with interfaces for Microsoft SharePoint and mobile devices, developed by IFS technology partner Din ERP.

“Din ERP offers a highly intuitive user experience based on standardized processes that are adapted to the individual user’s role in the value chain,” Din ERP CEO Dagfinn Stave said. “By combining IFS Applications with our front-end SharePoint and mobile solutions, we will be able to offer Avinor a robust system in a familiar and user-friendly environment that promotes user efficiency and satisfaction.”

The implementation will start immediately and is expected to be completed in June 2014.
