Teleflex to Present at 21st International Congress of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES)

LIMERICK, Pa.--()--Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, will showcase its comprehensive surgical portfolio during the International EAES Congress in Vienna, Austria on June 19-22, 2013 and at the same time celebrate the 50th year anniversary of its Weck™ ligation system.

During the event, Teleflex will present its comprehensive and diversified range of surgical instruments, devices for general surgery and other specialized areas – all under the Taut™, Weck™, Pilling™, Pleur-Evac™, KMedic™ and Deknatel™ brands.

This year Teleflex is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Weck products. Since the Weck ligating clip was pioneered in 1963, the Hemoclip™ system has become the surgical standard around the world, while the Hem-o-lok™ clip's unique design and polymer technology have set a new standard in ligation.

Teleflex offers minimally invasive surgeons a full line of Weck access devices, the Weck Vista™ series, providing confidence, clarity and control during general and advanced laparoscopic procedures. The asymmetrically dilating Weck Vista optical trocar features excellent light transmission through its transparent tip that enables clear visualization of tissue layers during entry. It incorporates ridges on the cannula providing excellent port stability particularly throughout extended procedures.

The innovative design of the Weck EFx™ Endo Fascial Closure System provides key benefits for the surgeon and patient including a special design for port closure and enables reproducible fascial closure in varying body types with a controlled suture delivery.
