TEMPE, Ariz.--()--Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced that two of its executives were recognized by UBM Tech Channel’s CRN as 2013 Women of the Channel in the U.S. The Avnet executives honored on this list are Nicole Enright, vice president, strategic enablement services, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas; and Jessica Yeck, vice president, sales, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, HP Solutions group. CRN’s annual list recognizes women executives for their accomplishments over the past year and their far-reaching impact on the technology industry. This year’s Women of the Channel were chosen by the editors of CRN based on their achievements as executives and the amount of influence they wield over the technology channel.

In addition, Enright was selected for the third consecutive year as a Power 100 Woman of the Channel. The Power 100 recognizes an elite subset of the women based on their rank, influence, channel savvy, and exceptional achievements. These women have made a name for themselves as leaders within their own companies and the IT channel as a whole.

“Nicole and Jessica are committed to collaborating with our partners and suppliers to achieve profitable growth,” said Jeff Bawol, president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. “Both of these executives helped our channel community capitalize on rapidly emerging market opportunities in areas such as big data, converged infrastructure and IT services. We are proud of their well-deserved industry recognition from CRN, and it underscores the impact Nicole and Jessica have had in positioning Avnet, our partners and our suppliers for long-term success.”

Enright played a significant role in expanding Avnet’s services capabilities in the past year. She held key leadership positions on the teams involved in Avnet’s acquisitions of Ascendant Technology, BrightStar Partners, Canvas Systems, Genilogix, Pepperweed Consulting, and TSSLink, which are critical components of the recently launched Avnet Services global business model. Enright also assisted in developing Avnet’s services strategy to provide profitable services offerings to the technology channel that accelerate the growth of hardware and software solutions sales.

Yeck also helped Avnet’s partners and suppliers grow in new ways. Throughout the past year, Yeck made it her mission to enable Avnet’s partners to enhance their HP business with broader data center solutions related to key IT technology trends, such as big data and converged infrastructure. In doing so, she implemented programs for HP that differentiate its technology and drive its market share. Additionally, she empowered her employees by improving processes and toolsets to quicken decision making and deliver a superior customer experience.

“We honor and congratulate this list of influential women who are dedicated to supporting the mission of the channel,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, UBM Tech Channel. “For years, we have identified and celebrated the women who have made an indelible mark on the technology industry through unmatched innovation and razor focus on meeting the needs of the IT channel community.”

A special feature of the Women of the Channel is in the June issue of CRN magazine and expanded coverage of The 100 Most Powerful Women of the Channel will be featured online at www.crn.com.
