SPARTANBURG, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ms. Eunice Knouse, Professor of Professor of Biology and Physical Science at Spartanburg Methodist College has been recognized with the 2013 SCICU Excellence in Teaching Award.
Knouse is one of twenty South Carolina liberal arts college teachers recognized by South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc., a charitable organization that is directed by education, business and civic leadership in South Carolina.
Knouse was nominated for her dedication and commitment to be the best in the study and teaching of biology and physical science. Additionally, she was selected as an award recipient for one-on-one instruction and in serving as a student advisor, mentor and friend.
“I have bumped into Professor Knouse’s former students in my travels, and they always comment on their appreciation for the rigor of her courses and the valuable role she played in getting them ready for upper division sciences,” stated Dr. Colleen Keith, President of Spartanburg Methodist College. “She is passionate, creative, and caring – that’s why students relate to her so well.”
Knouse was awarded a professional development grant in the amount of $3,000 during the 2013 Excellence in Teaching Award Ceremony on April 16, 2013. Ms. Henri Baskins, Chair of the SCICU Board of Trustees, presented the award and grant.
