Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation Names 2013 Impact Grant Recipients

Foundation choses three nonprofits to receive one million dollars each in Cornerstone software and services over two years to deliver sustainable impact

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--()--The Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed by global cloud-based talent management leader Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ:CSOD), announced today recipients of its 2013 Impact Grant Program.

The Impact Grant program helps a select group of nonprofits annually to expand the reach and scale of their community education programs by leveraging Cornerstone’s learning and development technology. Impact Grant recipients receive a two-year donation of Cornerstone software and services, including use of the Cornerstone Learning Cloud, and access to a range of pro bono learning and HR consulting services offered by the Foundation.

This grant will allow nonprofit recipients to better reach, train and prepare the individuals and communities they serve, ultimately accelerating their initiatives and furthering their organizational mission.

The 2013 Impact Grant recipients include:

  • The Ounce of Prevention Fund
The Ounce, a leader in early childhood practice, policy and research fields, has been working to improve outcomes for children in poverty for more than 30 years. The Ounce Institute provides training and best-practice standards for Illinois’ home visitation workforce – individuals who meet regularly with low-income children (0-5 years) and their families -- to enhance parenting skills and support healthy child development. With this grant, the Ounce will expand this evidence-based training program to a national audience, training upwards of 25,000 home visitors and improving life outcomes for more than 360,000 at-risk children.
  • Darkness to Light (D2L)
Since 2000, D2L has pursued its ultimate mission of ending childhood sexual abuse. Through its Stewards of Children training program, D2L empowers adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly with regard to childhood sexual abuse. To date, more than 450,000 adults across a range of youth-serving organizations have been trained through the facilitator-led version of Stewards of Children. The Impact Grant award will enable D2L to dramatically increase the reach of this training by distributing the online version of this program, offering an accessible and affordable training option to adults across the country and around the world.
  • Alliance for a Healthier Generation (The Alliance)
Founded in 2005 by the American Heart Association and the Clinton Foundation, the Alliance is an advocate for children’s health, and working collaboratively with schools, companies, community organizations, healthcare professionals and families to reduce childhood obesity. The Alliance will use the grant donation to significantly expand the breadth and depth of training available to those who lead and implement their Healthy School, Out-of-School Time and Healthier Generation Benefit programs, impacting the health and well-being of more than 10 million children.

“The Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation selected The Ounce, D2L and The Alliance as this year’s recipients based on a rigorous evaluation process that prioritizes those organizations with executive-level commitment and a plan to dramatically expand an existing educational program. Each of these organizations bears an important mission, and we are proud to support these organizations and to help them broaden their efforts and accelerate their respective initiatives,” said Julie Brandt, executive director of the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation.

“We are excited to be among the recipients of this year’s Impact Grant Program and look forward to partnering with the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation,” said Sarah Bradley, chief operating officer of the Ounce. “The Impact Grant will catapult us forward with our home visiting scaling initiative, and will provide us with the foundation needed to realize the Ounce’s larger vision of transforming the lives of millions of children and families living in poverty across the country.”

The Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation launched its Impact Grant Program in 2012. Project HOPE, an international health and humanitarian relief and development organization, was the first recipient of the Impact Grant. The organization launched its India Diabetes Educator Project in 2007 to address the 60 million Indians living with diabetes. With the Foundation’s Impact Grant, Project HOPE is positioned to dramatically accelerate the training and education of health care professionals in India to help patients better manage and treat diabetes.
