In 2012, Cecchetti Wine Company sold a record 340,000 cases of their affordably priced California wines, including Redtree, Line 39, Backhouse, and Exitus. Portfolio wide sales volume increased 30 percent compared with 2011. Leading the charge was Backhouse with an increase of 93 percent to 62,000 cases, followed by Line 39 with an increase of 30 percent to 112,000 cases, and Redtree at a 12 percent increase year-over-year to 162,000 cases. The company’s new 2012 entry, Exitus red blend, sold approximately 3,000 cases as part of an exclusive with beverage chain Beverages & More! With a strong first quarter of 2013, the company is on track to sell approximately 400,000 cases this year for 15-20 percent growth rate.
As a result of this success, Redtree, Line 39, and Backhouse were named 2013 Growth Brands by Beverage Information Group, which is an annual ranking of the fastest growing wine and spirits brands. This is the third consecutive year for Redtree and Line 39 on the Growth Brands list. Backhouse was also named to the Technomic 50 that ranks the top fifty spirits, wine, and beer brands that achieved significant volume gains last year and are positioned to continue growing in 2013.
