Coupons.com Announces Acquisition of Startup KitchMe; Debuts Meal Planning and Savings Application

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--()--Coupons.com, the recognized leader in digital coupons, including online printable, pure digital and mobile promotions, today announced the public beta launch of KitchMe, a next-generation meal planning and savings web application. KitchMe uniquely combines meal planning, recipes, savings and shopping list capabilities in an easy to use, visually compelling application. Free to use, the application is available at www.kitchme.com and can be used with desktop and mobile browsers. Coupons.com also announced the acquisition of KitchMe, the San Francisco-based startup that designed the application. Both co-founders of KitchMe, Stella Kleiman and Gene Reddick, have joined the Coupons.com team.

“We were immediately impressed with both the KitchMe product and the company,” said Steven Boal, CEO of Coupons.com Incorporated. “KitchMe is unlike anything else we've seen, combining best-in-class meal planning, recipe discovery, shopping list creation and couponing capabilities in a single application. Not only did we acquire a great product but a talented team as well.”

Key Features

KitchMe offers a breadth of features and functions that make meal planning truly fast and easy.

  • Drag-and-Drop Meal Planning. Recipes (or entire meals) can be dragged to the calendar to map out meals for the day, the week or longer and the ingredients are automatically added to the shopping list. KitchMe saves a timeline of meals to speed meal planning in the future. The application also can automatically create weekly plans, pairing entrees, sides and savings.
  • Curated Recipes. KitchMe includes thousands of recipes that have been handpicked for quality and ease of preparation. KitchMe focuses on recipes with a rating of 4.5 stars or higher and that can be prepared in 45 minutes or less. Users can save their favorite recipes as well as share their activities via Facebook and Pinterest.
  • Integrated Savings. KitchMe seamlessly integrates savings by showing which ingredients are on sale at the user’s favorite supermarkets and which have digital coupons available. Circular savings information is included for over 200 grocery stores, covering every zip code in the country. KitchMe includes printable coupons from Coupons.com, offering hundreds of dollars in savings every day.
  • Print-and-Go Meal Plans and Shopping Lists. With the click of a button, KitchMe lets users print meal plans and shopping lists. The detailed shopping list includes ingredients and quantity, organized by store aisles to speed shopping. The shopping list capability is powered by the same technology used in Coupons.com’s Grocery iQ, a leading shopping-list mobile app for iOS and Android operating systems.

KitchMe makes it easy for anyone to plan, shop, save and cook great meals,” said Jeanette Pavini, Household Savings Expert for Coupons.com. “KitchMe helps take the mystery and stress out of ‘What am I going to cook tonight?’”
