SIG SAUER and Lancer Collaborate on New SIG MPX

-Lancer Engineers Proprietary Translucent Magazine and Carbon Fiber Handguard for Revolutionary Tactical Weapon-

ALLENTOWN, Pa.--()--Lancer Systems LP, a leading small arms component manufacturer, is proud to announce its partnership with SIG SAUER, Inc. on the new SIG MPX submachine gun. Lancer designed and developed a hybrid magazine and carbon fiber handguard exclusively for the SIG MPX.

Using their proprietary translucent material, Lancer engineered the SIG MPX's hybrid magazine to be both lightweight and durable, traits that have fueled the popularity of the Lancer L5 Advanced Warfighter Magazine in recent years.

The SIG MPX also uses a Lancer developed carbon fiber handguard option. The handguard is a unique aluminum-carbon fiber hybrid that is integrated into the weapon's upper receiver, providing a lightweight, robust platform for mounting sights and accessories. The handguard's carbon fiber composite material is a suitable replacement for its aluminum counterpart, reducing heat build-up and dissipating heat faster than aluminum. Lancer has led the industry in the application of metal replacement materials to reduce overall weight.

"The entire team at Lancer is proud of the contributions made to the SIG MPX, the most revolutionary submachine gun and military tactical weapon of its kind on the market," said Scott Vilardi, small arms business area manager, Lancer. "We're thankful for the opportunity to take part in this project with SIG SAUER. The SIG MPX raises the bar for the entire small arms industry. We look forward to future collaborations."

Since its launch in January 2013, the SIG MPX has received high praise from all corners of the small arms industry. “Our goal was to deliver the new world-wide standard of SMG performance. Lancer’s collaboration on the SIG MPX ensured that standard would be very high indeed,” said Jeff Creamer, Director of Product Management, SIG SAUER, Inc.

"Built as a weapon that can withstand the most extreme environments, the additions of our translucent hybrid magazine and carbon fiber handguard are a perfect fit to the SIG MPX," continued Vilardi. "SIG SAUER's development team challenged us to come up with strong, abuse resistant, easy-to-use components to support this weapon. We're proud of the results."
