LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Florence Henderson received a special birthday present this year: two newly adopted kids – baby dwarf Nigerian goats, of course! Betty White and her friends at The Lifeline Program adopted the two kids at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens in honor of Henderson, who turns 79 on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2013. The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association’s “Adopt an Animal Program” enables anyone to assist one of the zoo’s terrific residents.
Henderson, an actress and singer most famous for her role as America’s favorite Mom Carol Brady, on the classic ABC sitcom “The Brady Bunch,” currently hosts her own Emmy Award nominated talk show, “The Florence Henderson Show,” on RLTV.
“I asked my dear friend Florence what she wanted for her birthday and Valentine’s day,” said White. “But since Bradley Cooper wasn’t available, I decided on the next best thing – two dwarf Nigerian goats.”
“I'm thrilled Betty adopted the goats in my name for my birthday,” said Henderson. “And what better gift from one old goat to another than a young goat.”
