LOS ANGELES--()--Aaron Brothers, a national retail art and framing store, received a First Place award at the Retail Design Institute’s 2012 International Store Design Awards gala. Aaron Brothers’ new stores build on their 60-year heritage of nurturing creativity and acting as the hot spot for artisans of all kinds. The two new prototype stores are located in West Hollywood and Woodland Hills, Calif., and were designed by the award-winning strategic brand and design firm Chute Gerdeman, long respected for creating unforgettable retail environments.

The stores are hip, urban and creative, providing an experience that inspires artistic expression. Throughout the stores, the ambiance is one of an urban artist’s loft with polished concrete floors and fixtures on industrial-style wheels with hand-hewn qualities.

Aaron Brothers’ stores offer up an exciting mix of merchandise, inspiration, tips and techniques. Designed in three distinct zones, the stores amplify the brand’s core categories of art supplies, custom framing and do-it yourself framing.

“The new stores far exceeded our expectations,” said Aaron Brothers President Jim King. “Our store is a one-of-a-kind original store concept that is unique to our customers and our brand. We are thrilled that we received this recognition, and we are so honored to have worked with Chute Gerdeman. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to cap off this experience working together.”

The Retail Design Institute International Store Design competition is always hard fought, and this year was no exception. There were over 170 entries representing projects and architects, designers and retailers from around the world. Visit www.retaildesigninstitute.org.
