ST. LOUIS--()--Mike Scott, director of application architecture at online investing services company, Scottrade, Inc., was recognized as a 2013 Premier 100 IT Leader by IDG’s Computerworld.

“It is an honor to receive this recognition for Scottrade and join this year’s class of innovative IT leaders,” Scott said. “During the past 12 years working in IT at Scottrade, I have had many rewarding opportunities to work on projects that directly affect self-directed traders and investors. I have a lot of passion for my work, and am supported by all areas of the business to continue to provide engaging solutions to our clients.”

Specifically, Scott was recognized for his work in redesigning the company’s IT department to more quickly anticipate and react to rapidly-changing needs of self-directed traders and investors. He led the creation and remodeling of various trading platforms and applications, translating to consistent, dependable and secure trading websites used by millions of traders and investors, securing Scottrade’s position as an industry leader.

“When I look to determine what qualities make a leader and mentor, it’s not one facet that someone does really well, but a number of skills that are performed time after time exceptionally well,” said Joe Tocco, development managing director at Scottrade. “Mike has proven his leadership by implementing reliable, user-friendly trading tools, developing essential trading applications and improving trade executions with the construction of a patented automated brokerage system.”
