PALO ALTO, Calif.--()--DisplayLink®, the leading provider of USB Graphics Technology, today announced its latest USB Graphics Software release, adding support for Microsoft’s Windows 8 Operating System. Its latest Version 7.0 release is fully backwards compatible with all DisplayLink enabled USB 2.0 and 3.0 products and adds support for new Ultrabooks and Intel based Tablet / Slate PC’s. DisplayLink users can now enjoy all the new features of Windows 8 along with multi-screen connectivity for docking stations, monitors, and graphics adapters via the simplicity of a single plug-and-display USB cable.

“Our latest software release enables USB Graphics on a much wider range of computing products, including Intel based Tablet and Slate PC’s and Microsoft’s Surface Pro platforms for business,” said John Cummins, SVP Sales & Marketing. “We’ve worked closely with our key customers and partners to ensure everything is ready on time for the Windows 8 launch and are proud to have the drivers fully available today for users globally.”

Advances in technology are reshaping our work environment and DisplayLink provides solutions that increase usability, productivity, and flexibility. Using a DisplayLink enabled docking station or monitor-dock, tablets are transformed from a content consumption device to a full desktop experience, with multiple wide screen displays, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to the corporate network, a full size keyboard and mouse, and full USB peripheral connectivity. Monitors that support touch screen capabilities are also supported, enabling users to seamlessly interact with their tablets, touch enabled Ultrabooks, and touch enabled USB displays.

DisplayLink delivers ultra low latency and pixel accurate quality to ensure the best user experience when adding multiple displays, and bringing this unique capability to the new Windows 8 interface makes for a truly pleasurable experience. Users can choose the classic interface or the new Windows 8 interface, and when combined with touch products such as Microsoft Surface Pro and multiple DisplayLink enabled displays makes for a highly interactive plug-and-display product experience that greatly enhances productivity.

“We’ve fully embraced the vision of tablets in the work place,” said John Cummins. “When connected to a DisplayLink enabled docking cradle with multiple displays and keyboard and mouse connectivity, the user experience and productivity gains in the work environment are fundamentally transformed.”
