HOPKINS, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Shamblott Family Dentistry offers children a rare after-Halloween treat as part of the annual Halloween Candy Buyback Program. When children bring their unopened candy to the office on November 1 and 2 during specific drop-off hours, they’ll receive $1 per pound of candy. All candy will be sent to Operation Gratitude and donated to our troops serving overseas.
“It’s great seeing kids come into the office wanting to trade their candy to help our troops. We get the sugar out of their hands, mouths and tummies, and into the hands of soldiers who use that same candy to befriend locals and make a difference in communities around the world,” said Dr. Shamblott.
This is Shamblott Family Dentistry’s fourth year participating in the program. Last year, the office donated over 500 pounds of candy to Operation Gratitude. Nationally, Operation Gratitude plans to ship 60,000 care packages this year.
“I’m a dad as well as a dentist, and I know how children look forward to trick or treating,” said Dr. Shamblott. “By donating their candy after Halloween, kids can still enjoy Halloween, but spare their teeth, tummies and orthodontic appliances from all that sticky, sugary candy.”
To participate in the Halloween Candy Buyback event, bring unopened Halloween candy to the reception area of Shamblott Family Dentistry on Thursday, November 1, 2012, between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., or on Friday, November 2, 2012 between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The office is located at 33 10th Avenue S, Suite #250, in Hopkins, Minnesota.
