The Texas Renaissance Festival Announces Additions and Updates for the 38th Festival Season

TODD MISSION, Texas--()--The Texas Renaissance Festival, the nation’s largest and most acclaimed festival of its kind, announces the completion of multiple festival improvements, just in time for the 38th season.

During the past year, the Texas Renaissance Festival has been hard at work during the off-season to ensure that when the Festival gates open on October 6, 2012, this season will be the best one yet. From simple updates to entire new buildings, fans will enjoy a New Market Village.

Noteworthy changes festival goers will notice include a new historically accurate Globe Theater, shaded seating at the Sea Devil Tavern, and a second floor observation deck at the Barbarian Inn. Also at the Barbarian Inn, visitors can now relax on the new covered patio with a pint of mead from the soon-to-be-popular full length bar, or catch a show at the recently constructed stage.

The Texas Renaissance Festival will also celebrate the grand opening of a new Latin cuisine restaurant: Hacienda San Jorge. Owned and operated by long-time festival food vendor Ligia Giles, better known as “The Empanada Lady,” patrons of Hacienda San Jorge can savor a new menu featuring South American cuisine as they are entertained by beautiful Brazilian dancers.
