(Nasdaq: GLCH), announced today that seven professionals have joined the MBS & Rates Division in its New York City office, including Glen Riis and Samir Shah who have joined the firm as Managing Directors. In addition, Eric Baeri, Samuel Herrnson, David Kaplan, Anthony Mun and Jeffrey David Weaver have been hired as Directors.

About Mr. Riis
Mr. Riis previously served as the CMBS Portfolio Manager at Treesdale Partners where he managed the firm’s investment activity in CMBS/CRE related products. Over the course of his 25 year career, Mr. Riis has held numerous CMBS trading positions at a regional broker/dealer, The Seaport Group, as well as a senior trader at JPMorgan, and at Chase Commercial MBS. He spent the first twelve years of his career at Merrill Lynch where he held various MBS trading roles, including Senior CMBS trader. Mr. Riis obtained a B.S. in Financial Management from San Jose State University.
About Mr. Shah
Mr. Shah joins Gleacher & Company with more than 25 years of experience in mortgage and asset-backed securities trading. Most recently, he was a Managing Director in the Structured Products group of Tejas Securities Group. He previously held senior MBS Sales & Trading positions at The Seaport Group and Delta Equity Services. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President and the founder and Head of the ABS/MBS Group at MF Global, where he oversaw sales and trading between institutional customers. Earlier in his career, Mr. Shah held various MBS sales positions and served in sales and research positions at several leading financial institutions, including Cantor Fitzgerald, Nomura Securities International, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. Mr. Shah received a B.A. in Economics and Computer Science from Rutgers University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
About Mr. Baeri
Mr. Baeri comes to Gleacher & Company from Newedge, where he was a Director in the Rates Trading sector. Previously, he was a Vice President and Head of Agency Trading at MF Global. He began his career at Goldman Sachs as an Analyst in the Institutional Fixed Income Sales group, and was promoted to Associate in the Interest Rate Product Trading Group. Mr. Baeri received a dual degree in Finance and Accounting from Villanova University.
About Mr. Herrnson
Mr. Herrnson has over 20 years of experience in fixed income sales and joins Gleacher & Company from Aladdin Capital, where he was a Director in Asset Management Sales. He has previously served in various Fixed Income Sales positions as a Senior Vice President at HSBC. Earlier in his career, he was a Director at Deutsche Bank and a Vice President at Bear Stearns. Mr. Herrnson received a B.S. in Personnel Management and Labor Relations from the University of Maryland.
About Mr. Kaplan
Mr. Kaplan joins Gleacher & Company from Rochdale Capital Management, where he specialized in structured finance products. He previously served as a Director focused on MBS sales and trading at Cohen & Co., Highland Financial Holdings and Mariner Investment Group. Prior to that, he was Head of the Securities Products Group at Credit Industriel et Commerical. Mr. Kaplan began his career at Bear Stearns & Co., where he spent over 15 years, ultimately serving as a Senior Managing Director focusing on securitized products. While at Bear Stearns, Mr. Kaplan also led the group’s international securitization efforts, including working in London as a Mortgage Product Manager. He received a B.A. from Brown University with a dual concentration in History and Economics and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Mun has held various positions in Fixed Income and Structured Products over the last 12 years and joins Gleacher & Company from Ally Securities, where he was a Director on the Institutional Sales & Trading Desk and the Head of the Mortgage Sales Desk. Prior to that, he was a Director in Sales & Trading at Auriga USA LLC. Mr. Mun has also held positions at CREMAC Asset Management LLC, Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., Nomura Securities Co., Ltd and Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Mun received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A from Babson College.

Most recently, Mr. Weaver was the Director of MBS Sales at Ally Securities, where he started the regional deal desk for MBS.
