ENERPATH AWARDED RENEWAL OF SMALL BUSINESS DIRECT INSTALL CONTRACT BY NYSEG AND RG&E

EnerPath has been awarded a 3.5 year contract for the implementation of New York State Electric and Gas and Rochester Gas & Electric’s Small Business Energy Efficiency Program for nonresidential customers with a demand of 100 kilowatts or less. This contract extends EnerPath’s partnership with the utilities that began in May 2010.

The energy efficient lighting options offered through NYSEG and RG&E’s program will now offer an expanded selection of light-emitting diode (LED) lamps, lighting fixtures and outdoor lighting, making it possible for small businesses, office buildings and other eligible facilities to upgrade even more lighting to energy efficient lighting with little out-of-pocket expense.

In the last two years EnerPath has enrolled more than 10,000 New York businesses in NYSEG and RG&E’s Small Business Energy Efficiency Program. Each enrollment begins with a lighting assessment using EnerPath’s proprietary auditing software and ends with the installation of energy efficient lighting by EnerPath’s contractors. Businesses that have taken advantage of this program are saving more than 86 million kilowatt-hours (kwh) of electricity and $9.6 million annually on their electricity bills. EnerPath was able to achieve the utilities’ savings goals with a 98% customer satisfaction rating, and at the lowest cost-per-kwh of any program in New York State.

Stephen Guthrie, CEO of EnerPath, expressed the organization’s continued dedication to partnering with NYSEG and RG&E. “The extension of our successful partnership through 2015 will allow us to help thousands more small businesses enroll in the utilities’ energy saving program,” Guthrie said. “The addition of new measures into the program will provide even greater money saving opportunities for new customers and previously enrolled businesses.”

In addition to helping small businesses across New York, EnerPath has been able to support the local economy with the creation of over 75 green jobs statewide. EnerPath will continue to manage the NYSEG and RG&E program from its Rochester, NY office.
