Source Interlink Companies Names Michael Porché As President Source Interlink Distribution

David Algire to become EVP of Source Interlink Media

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla.--()--Source Interlink Companies, Inc., announced today that Michael Porché will be joining the company as President of Source Interlink Distribution, reporting directly to Michael Sullivan, President and CEO of Source Interlink Companies, Inc. Porché will be replacing David Algire, who will be joining Source Interlink Media, a division of Source Interlink Companies, as Executive Vice President and President of The Media Source.

Porché joins Source Interlink Distribution bringing a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, as well as deep, trusted relationships throughout the retail channel. He joins Source after most recently serving as Director of Circulation at Wenner Media, LLC. Prior to that, Porché led Distribution Services Inc. (“DSI”), a subsidiary of American Media Inc., as President and CEO. He is a well-known industry leader and has served on many boards, associations and committees, including the Magazine Retail Advisory Council (MRAC) and Newsstand Industry Council (NIC).

Michael Sullivan commented, “I couldn’t be more excited to have Mike join our team. I have worked closely with him over the years and have developed a deep appreciation and respect for his leadership capabilities. His experience in growing sales in a challenging economic environment coupled with his background in leveraging the logistic capabilities inherent in the newsstand channel to bring new product and services to market, will be instrumental in leading our distribution business as this channel continues to evolve over the next three to five years. We have been extremely encouraged by the response we have received from companies outside the newsstand channel as they are made aware of the best-in-class distribution, category management and merchandising services Source has developed over the last two years. As a leading publisher ourselves, we are also keenly aware of the need to have a viable long-term newsstand channel that works for all participants.”

In his new role, Porché will be directly responsible for all aspects of Source Interlink Distribution including Sales, Category Management, Warehouse Operations and Merchandising Services. He will also have responsibilities within Source Interlink International and Source Interlink Manufacturing. Porché joins an already seasoned team that has not only grown Source Interlink Distribution into the leading wholesale distributor in North America, but has also led the way in creating innovative solutions for retailers and publishers alike.

David Algire will transition to Source Interlink Media as Executive Vice President and President of The Media Source. Algire will provide the leadership needed as this group continues to expand its client roster providing consumer marketing, front-end management, procurement, production and digital media services. He will also manage Source Interlink Media’s Consumer Marketing Group including both subscription and newsstand marketing. Algire, who will be reporting to Chris Argentieri, President of Source Interlink Media, is a twenty five year veteran of the media industry, having previously held senior executive roles for Meredith, Reader’s Digest and Primedia.

“David’s vast experience in consumer marketing, and his deep understanding of how to efficiently overcome the economic challenges media companies are currently facing, as well as his deep industry relationships made him the obvious choice to lead a group that has experienced phenomenal growth by offering the services that are desperately needed by a number of publishers who are looking to become more efficient in today’s business environment” said Sullivan. “We have successfully transitioned from a legacy print media company to a platform agnostic content creator with over half of our operating profits currently coming from non-print sources. No matter the delivery medium, Source Interlink Media remains highly committed to reaching our dedicated enthusiast audience across all platforms.”
