MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vantrix, the global leader of mobile video mediation, video optimization and delivery solutions, today announced the appointment of Jim Knapik as Vantrix’s CEO, effective on July 9, 2012. Jim brings more than 20 years of relevant industry experience to this and he replaces Allan Benchetrit, who now holds the role of President.

Jim was most recently President and CEO of OZ Communications, a Montreal-based leading solution provider in mobile messaging. He joined OZ in 2005 and became CEO in 2007, where he led a new phase of growth for the company that eventually drove OZ's acquisition by Nokia in 2008.

Jim has over two decades of wireless product, network development and operations expertise. He began his career with Motorola where he developed software and deployed systems for some of the largest private wireless dispatch systems in Scandinavia and Europe. During his 10 year tenure at AT&T Wireless Services, and then Cingular, Jim led network technology launches of GPRS, UMTS, and MMS. Additionally, he spearheaded the product and technology teams for the "American Idol" mobile voting program including the integration of the AWS and Cingular messaging networks.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Elmhurst College in Illinois.
