Harris Corporation Selected for Department of State’s Development, Modernization and Enhancement Contract

WASHINGTON & MELBOURNE, Fla.--()--Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has been selected for the Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs’ Development, Modernization, and Enhancement contract, which has a total ceiling value of $750 million.

Harris was one of nine companies chosen to participate on the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity blanket purchase agreement to support the automated systems behind the Bureau’s major business processes -- Visa, Passport, and American Citizen Services. The contract includes one base year and four one-year options.

Under the contract, Harris will deliver technical support services including developing new IT solutions, modernizing existing IT solutions, enhancing existing IT solutions, and maintaining software. Harris has delivered similar services to the Department of State for more than 16 years under its Consular Affairs Support Services contract, supporting more than 250 Department of State consulates, embassies, and passport agencies domestically and internationally. Enhancing consular IT systems will help the Department of State better serve the American traveling public and foreign travelers planning to visit the United States.
