Davidoff Malito & Hutcher LLP Renamed as Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP

NEW YORK--()--Davidoff Malito & Hutcher LLP, one of New York’s top law and government affairs firms, announced today it has changed its name to Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP.

“We are very pleased to announce the change in our firm’s name to add Jeff Citron,” said Sid Davidoff, who Co-Founded the firm in 1975. “Larry Hutcher and Jeff have done a superb job as Co-Managing Partners for a number of years and now our new name reflects their efforts.”

“Since 1975, we have built an enviable reputation as the quintessential New York law firm,” said Larry Hutcher. “Our unique understanding and experience of the New York court system and business community has allowed us to successfully represent our clients in a variety of complex situations.”

“Our new name reflects our growth and evolution over the years into a multidisciplined, full-service law firm to better serve our clients’ needs,” said Jeffrey Citron. “Our firm offers all aspects of business law, commercial litigation, government relations and lobbying, real estate, trusts and estates, matrimonial and family law and administrative law matters.” The firm will soon be introducing a new branding campaign and website.

Sid Davidoff is recognized as one of New York's best known and most successful attorneys specializing in City and State agency work, which includes the Board of Standards and Appeals, the City Council, the City Planning Commission and various New York economic development agencies. Mr. Davidoff is highly regarded for his ability to guide major development projects through the City's complex land use approval process. He was administrative assistant to New York Mayor John V. Lindsay for seven years. He served as a Commissioner on the New York City Rent Guidelines Board. He is currently a member of the Metropolitan New York Board of Governors for the United States Olympic Committee.

Larry Hutcher, Co-Managing Partner and Chair of the Litigation group, has been with the firm since its inception as the firm’s first associate. Known as the “businessman’s lawyer,” he tries cases in State and Federal Courts, as well as arbitration proceedings throughout the United States. Mr. Hutcher has particular expertise in the field of ‘business divorce,’ representing shareholders (majority or minority), partners (including lawyers and doctors) and LLC members in the resolution of ownership disputes and other intra-corporate issues. Mr. Hutcher handles the negotiation and drafting of all types of transactions including buy-sell, employment agreements, and shareholder and operating agreements, bringing the unique perspective of a litigator to the negotiating table.

Jeffrey Citron, Co-Managing Partner and Chair of the Real Estate group, is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s administrative and management functions. Mr. Citron has practiced law for over 25 years and has extensive experience in real estate and general commercial practice. He specializes in assisting private and public companies in securing financing grants and benefits for capital projects through the auspices of government agencies and lending institutions. He has served as counsel for the trustees for various Industrial Development Agencies and is a recognized authority in the negotiation of Industrial Revenue Bond financing.

In response to the firm’s growth and development, Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP recently renewed its New York City office lease at 605 Third Avenue. The firm will shortly be renovating and upgrading its entire 34th floor to continue to attract top-quality legal talent and create a more efficient work environment for its employees. In order to do so, the landlord, Fisher Brothers, offered Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP swing space on the 25th floor while this work is being completed.

Consistent with the firm’s progression, over eight months ago, the firm restructured its State Government Relations practice under the leadership of Stephen A. Malito. The group will continue to operate from both its new and expanded Albany office, as well as their existing office in Garden City, Long Island.

Similarly, Michael G. Zapson, Managing Attorney of the Long Island office and a former County Legislator, says, “It’s also been exciting to watch the growth of our Long Island practice with the addition of David W. Denenberg who heads our Intellectual Property group, and Andrew P. Cooper, whose experience in Health Law has proved invaluable.”
