Vendors Add ‘Big Data’ Capabilities As Enterprise Customers Accelerate Adoption of Analytics Software, According to Nucleus Research Value Matrix

IBM continues to solidify its position as analytics leader on the Technology Value Matrix

BOSTON--()--Nucleus Research released the H1 2012 Technology Value Matrix for analytics software, finding that organizations are getting savvier in their use of the technology and are accelerating adoption enterprise-wide and beyond. In response, many analytics vendors are adding ‘big data’ capabilities to their offerings, the Value Matrix shows.

“Nucleus Research sees two big factors that characterize the current business analytics market. One is that enterprise customers continue to improve the quality of their decision making as they process information through more filters and business users. The other is that mature core analytics capabilities coupled with Big Data-related products are becoming central to any business analytics offering,” said Hyoun Park, principal analyst at Nucleus Research.

IBM continues to climb in the Nucleus Research Value Matrix as continued investment in analytics results in increased productivity, better decision making, and lower costs for their customers. The company also leads as a result of the implementation of highly intuitive and rich visualization capabilities that meet the needs of both specialized and general business users. This is a trend that is seen with analytics leaders that use their broad offerings enabling high-ROI analytics deployments spanning the enterprise.

Nucleus Research recently issued a report showing an increasing and accelerating ROI for analytics software through the four stages of deployment. ROI increased from an average of 188 percent for the initial automation phase up to 1,209 percent on average in the later predictive phase. To see this report, go to Increasing Analytics ROI
