Insurance Law Podcast Examines Surface Transportation Broker Liability and the Carmack Amendment

OLDWICK, N.J.--()--A.M. Best Co. has released the latest installment of the Insurance Law Podcast, a series that examines timely insurance issues from an attorney’s point of view.

The latest episode features Daniel Raab from the Daniel W. Raab, P.A. firm in Miami. Raab, who has been practicing in South Florida for more than 20 years, is the author of the book Transportation Terms and Conditions. He also is a contributing author to Goods in Transit and wrote the chapter on “Understanding Inland Marine Insurance Coverage” in The New Appleman Insurance Practice Guide.

In this episode, Raab talks about a transportation case involving surface transportation broker liability. Also discussed is the impact for insurers of the Carmack Amendment, an amendment to the Interstate Commerce Act that makes a carrier liable for all loss of, or damage to, goods it is transporting.
