The Joseph Abboud Brand Evolves Tailored Clothing Business

First of Its Kind Technology Driven iPad App Allows Customers to Tailor Instantly

NEW YORK--()--Iconic American brand Joseph Abboud® continues to modernize the retail landscape by announcing the launch of an iPad app that will improve the made-to-measure tailored clothing experience. In partnership with Nordstrom, the made-to-measure digital selling platform uses innovative technology allowing for a unique customer in-store shopping experience. The Joseph Abboud Made-to-Measure iPad app was envisioned, designed and built as a modern, collaborative customer experience which streamlines the made-to-measure sales process and fosters brand engagement in-store.

The iPad Made-to-Measure app is the first of its kind available within Nordstrom men’s clothing department. As a business-to-business solution, the iPad app looks to increase the custom clothing business for both companies. This app launches March 2012 and will be available in all Nordstrom stores throughout the U.S.

The app better enables customers to browse a full range of Joseph Abboud fabrics, select a style preference and silhouette that fits his body type and review previously purchased Joseph Abboud garments in the customer profile closet. The app showcases meticulous custom suiting details including lapels, pockets and vents allowing customers to create a personalized tailored garment. The order is then immediately placed with the Joseph Abboud factory in New Bedford, MA reducing the average turn around time to create and deliver custom made garments to the customer. By fusing technology, retail and fashion, the app provides a user-friendly customer experience for made-to-measure shopping.

“Our goal for the partnership was to build a modern business-to-business solution to support the growth of Nordstrom’s made-to-measure and special order business. We have built a multipurpose selling tool and a simplified, faster ordering system. Nordstrom is a valued partner and we feel that the application will reshape the tailored clothing shopping experience by directly catering to our customer’s needs,” says Tony Sapienza, CEO of Joseph Abboud.

“Technology is an increasingly important part of the service experience we hope to offer our customers,” says David Witman, Nordstrom’s executive vice president and general merchandise manager for Men’s Apparel. “Joseph Abboud is a terrific partner and the made-to-measure app is reflective of our combined efforts to add new capabilities to increase speed and convenience, and provide a more personalized experience for our customers. We look forward to introducing this functionality in our stores this March.”
