dbMotion’s Rate of Contract Wins Highlighted in KLAS Report

Provider of connected healthcare solutions nurtures growth by leveraging shift in market preference from public to private HIE models

PITTSBURGH--()--dbMotion, an innovative provider of connected healthcare solutions, won more contracts in the private health information exchange (HIE) market than any other vendor, as reflected by a sampling of CIOs who participated in KLAS’s “HIE Perception Study: Public or Private?” released in December 2011. To produce its report, KLAS randomly sampled 96 CIOs and other executive-level decision makers regarding their HIE plans and buying decisions.

In addition to assessing vendor mindshare, the KLAS report also explored market preference for private vs. public HIEs. Interviews revealed that healthcare organizations consider both models equally during the selection process, but that there is “a definite shift in market energy away from public HIE buyers and toward the private space…” Respondents noted that private HIEs tend to be nimbler, can be more easily customized, provide greater funding and security flexibility, and can be developed at a quicker pace.

In the report’s overview, KLAS notes that the dbMotion™ Solution is “selling quickly based on what providers describe as slick technology.” Another attractive factor about dbMotion, according to one respondent, is “not only their ability to exchange the information, but also their standardization of the vocabulary.” The platform’s focus on integrated workflow also contributes to dbMotion’s high win rate, the report continues. During the KLAS interview, in fact, one user said that dbMotion’s technology essentially allows the “HIE to be a tab on the EMR.”

Community Memorial Health System’s experience with dbMotion reinforces the KLAS findings, according to Ron Sandifer, Vice President of Information Systems at the Ventura, Ca. a not-for-profit healthcare organization that implemented the dbMotion semantic interoperability platform in 2009. “We’ve been highly impressed with dbMotion’s commitment to supporting connected healthcare by harmonizing data from disparate systems,” he says. “Even more importantly, dbMotion invests in smart, responsive professionals who have worked closely with us to ensure the platform meets our needs and is easy for our providers to use.”

“We are gratified by the comments and confidence our clients shared with KLAS,” says Yuval Ofek, Chief Executive Officer of dbMotion. “Our objective is to deliver critical clinical information to providers at the point of care, directly into their preferred workflow. We are confident we have the solution to help the industry achieve its HIE goals quickly, and have invested in the technology and human resources to ensure we can meet the growing market demand for our platform.”
