SpyderLynk’s “Snap-to-Buy” Technology Deployed in Launch of the Glamour Apothecary Wall

Innovative Shopping Wall Extends Magazine Experience Letting Consumers Purchase Products on the Spot

DENVER--()--SpyderLynk, a leading marketing technology company and creator of the SnapTag™, today announced its new Snap-to-Buy technology will be deployed in Glamour’s March issue, and through its Glamour Apothecary “shop-able” Wall unveiled today.

The Snap-to-Buy technology lets Glamour’s advertisers and readers experience the brand beyond the printed magazine. The Glamour Apothecary Wall features a host of products that consumers can purchase directly from the “shop-able” wall using their mobile phones. Creating an entirely new point of purchase, Glamour is transforming media and influencing consumer spending beyond the printed page. Glamour and 21 of its advertisers are featuring “Buy it Now” SnapTags throughout the magazine’s March issue, allowing readers to also Like advertisers, score deals and instantly buy products. Through a “Social Shopping” feature, readers can share their purchase information with friends via their Facebook pages.

“We are excited to collaborate with Glamour to bring our latest Snap-to-Buy innovation to their magazine readers, which can convert interest in an advertised product to a mobile purchase,” said Nicole Skogg, SpyderLynk Founder and CEO. “Glamour and their advertisers were the first to use our Social SnapTags to engage with readers last fall, which was a huge success. They continue to be on the forefront of digital marketing innovation with our Snap-to-Buy 2d mobile barcode technology, making it simple for readers − and NYC consumers − to buy something they see advertised.”

“SpyderLynk has been a dream partner—they have helped us further our goals in being first-to-market with something truly innovative and fun,” said Bill Wackermann, Condé Nast Publishing Director for Glamour and W. “Snap-to-Buy technology also helps our advertisers connect more directly with consumers to drive purchase consideration.”

Snap-to-Buy Details

Snap-to-Buy SnapTags transform the way consumers shop for products they see in print advertisements. It is the first integrated solution that combines social media, print media and mobile allowing consumers to complete a purchase from a single mobile based technology platform. Consumers simply snap or scan the “Buy it Now” SnapTag to purchase an advertised product. Consumers enter their credit card information once, which is then saved in a fully-encrypted ‘mobile wallet’ that can be used to make future “Snap-to-Buy” purchases from their specific mobile device.

SpyderLynk’s Snap-to-Buy technology is powered by mobile payments provider, Buck. Their unique “Single Click Checkout” allows mobile users to single click to purchase digital and physical items globally across all mobile operating systems. Buck’s global platform has the ability to recognize a mobile device so that buying can be enabled with literally a single click, no passwords, and no logins.

“Buck has been a great technology partner enabling us to bring to life our new m-commerce technology,” said Skogg. “Their frictionless payment solution that handles smart- and feature- phones and tablets was integrated to make mobile transaction processing and fulfillment seamless for our clients.”

“Buck, SpyderLynk and Glamour have transformed traditional print media into an interactive shopping site – enabling an entirely new direct-to-consumer point of sale for merchants,” said Andy Kleitsch, co-founder and CEO of Buck. “How many times have you seen a product in a magazine and said, ‘I want that now!’? Glamour’s Snap-to-Buy program enables impulse shopping everywhere.”

Buck supports all transactions including subscriptions, digital goods and content, one-time transactions, physical goods and services sales. Through Buck, merchants can safely and securely process transactions without restriction, allowing them to sell what they like, manage their own accounts at lower rates and extend their brand to checkout, while benefiting from immediate payment.
