CINCINNATI & BOGOTA, Colombia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos was the distinguished guest of honor at the dedication ceremony for Convergys’ new Colombian contact center, located in Bogota, Colombia’s capital city. This is the first facility in Colombia for Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in relationship management. The Bogota center has been in operation for about 11 months.
About 800 Colombians are currently employed at the center, providing inbound customer care services via telephone, web-chat, SMS and email in both English and Spanish for a Convergys telecommunications client and its customers worldwide. Once the Bogota center is fully staffed, Convergys will employ more than 2,000 talented Colombian men and women, who will provide a broad range of services including customer service, technical support, help desk, back office, and IVR support to a diverse portfolio of Convergys clients and their customers.
President Santos dedicated the facility, assisted by Dr. Diego Molano, Minister of Information Technologies and Communications, Father Camilo Bernal, and Convergys Senior Vice President of Operations Christine Timmins Barry, along with several other dignitaries and executives in attendance.
Timmins Barry joined Jorge Robledo, Convergys Vice President of Operations in Latin America, in welcoming President Santos and invited guests to the facility.
