Westfield Becomes Official Marketing Partner of the LA Sports & Entertainment Commission

LOS ANGELES--()--The Los Angeles-based U.S. unit of the Westfield Group has signed on as an Official Marketing Partner of the LA Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC) announced Kathryn Schloessman, President of LASEC.

The Westfield Group has interests in and operates one of the world's largest shopping center portfolios. The global portfolio has 124 high quality regional shopping centers in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, United Kingdom and Brazil valued in excess of $59 billion, with approximately 25,000 retailers in more than 113 million square feet of retail space. The Westfield Group manages all aspects of shopping center development, from design and construction through to leasing, management and marketing. The Group creates value through intensive management at an operational level and a strategic development program which continually improves the quality of the portfolio to generate income and capital growth for investors.

As part of Westfield’s marketing partnership, Gary Williams, U.S. Senior Executive Vice President, Westfield Property Group, was elected to serve on LASEC’s Board of Directors. Gary has been with Westfield for six years. In this role he is responsible for overseeing all U.S. Business Development Revenue, Center Management and Marketing. Additionally, he oversees Business Affairs which includes all Retail Design and Joint Venture Partner Relations. Furthermore, in January 2008 he became the Global Director of New Revenue & Marketing for Westfield Corporate.

Additionally, Larry Green, Senior Vice President, U.S. Development and Westfield’s LA Regional Leader, will serve on LASEC’s Advisory Board. Green has worked for the company since 1993 in various capacities both in Australia and across the United States. Today he is responsible for Westfield’s Operations and Development Program for the 11 shopping centers in the greater Los Angeles area, with an asset value in excess of US $4 billion.

LASEC is the official organization for the City of Los Angeles to seek, host, promote, and retain major sporting entertainment events that positively impact the local economy by attracting visitors to the city, giving them a reason to stay longer and return more frequently. LASEC is a private, nonprofit organization and an affiliate of LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. In addition to Westfield, other official marketing partners of the organization are American Airlines, Classic Party Rentals, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Farmer John, Longo Toyota-Scion-Lexus, Majestic Realty Co., Pacific Palms Resort, Sprint, State Farm, and Wells Fargo.
