MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Avtex today announced steps taken to prepare for a rapidly growing demand for communication technology solutions that improve the customer experience. The company appointed George Demou, the former President and CEO of Transcend Communications, to ramp up and expand its national sales team. As Senior Vice President of Sales, Demou’s focus is on building the strategy and framework to support aggressive growth, both organically and through additional mergers and acquisitions. The company’s goal is to double its annual sales revenue from $50M to $100M by 2015.
Demou joins the Avtex executive team which includes Bob Denman, CEO; Keith Rachey, CSO (Chief Strategy Officer); Chris Kumsher, CFO; Eric Raarup, Senior VP of Technology and Marketing and Kim Ericson-Rosaker, Senior VP of Operations. Along with the appointment of Demou, the leadership team members have strategically aligned their respective teams to focus on innovation, intellectual property development, and a commitment to organizational growth. Today, the company has a roster of 225 employees which includes 20 new hires recruited over the past six months. The company plans to hire an additional 20 before year-end.
“We’re pulling out all the stops to grow the company and adding George to the executive team is a key part of the equation.” Said Bob Denman, President of Avtex. “Businesses are finally getting serious about the customer experience. As consumers expect real-time, multi-channel communications, we’re seeing more organizations prioritize their investment in communication technology.
An industry veteran, George is passionate about building a high-performing team and has a track record in accelerated growth strategies that impact market share and sales revenue. Demou will lead the sales initiative by expanding the company’s geographic footprint and by accelerating the delivery of new and unique technology solutions that address today’s market demands. The quickly expanding national sales team will align closely with partners like Microsoft and Interactive Intelligence to move forward with emerging technologies and innovation as the platform for state-of-the-art customer experience solutions.
“Avtex is poised for growth,” said Demou. “We’re in the right place at the right time as organizations are eager to find more efficient ways to connect with their customers. This is our sweet spot. We have an exceptional team, satisfied customers, solid partnerships and a model that supports innovation. Avtex is truly in an enviable position as we are uniquely prepared to help our clients optimize their points of interaction. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be in this position with an emerging leader like Avtex.”
