TuneUp Utilities 2012 Enables PC Users to Maximize Battery Power and System Performance

Latest Version of Software Suite Available in Mid-October with Key Tuning Enhancements to Keep PCs as Good as New

MIAMI, Fla.--()--TuneUp Corporation today announced that the 2012 version of its award-winning series of PC optimization software, TuneUp Utilities, will be available in mid-October. TuneUp Utilities 2012 will enable Windows 7, Vista and XP users to maximize battery power with innovative tuning feature TuneUp Economy Mode, and to keep their PCs running as good as new with enhancements of its trusted system optimization tools, including TuneUp Program Deactivator.

Key Facts

  • The new TuneUp Economy Mode allows users to improve the battery life of their notebooks, netbooks and tablet PCs, as well as reduce desktop PC energy consumption—with a single click. Enhancing Windows’ default power management tools, it throttles CPU, puts built-in or attached devices into an idle mode, reduces LCD display brightness and turns off unnecessary background activity. As a result, TuneUp Economy Mode preserves power and reduces heat levels, increasing PCs’ and their hardware components’ life spans.
  • The enhanced TuneUp Program Deactivator turns off programs that are not being used in order to conserve system resources and maximize PC performance. Users can ensure that all of the services, start-up entries, background processes and scheduled tasks of these disabled programs remain inactive until they are needed; the tool can then enable and disable on the fly. TuneUp Utilities 2012 also provides an intelligent wizard to assist users in determining what programs to deactivate.
  • In mid-October, TuneUp Utilities 2012 will be available for download directly from TuneUp’s website or through TuneUp Corporation’s affiliate partners for $49.95. Consumers can also purchase the software at retail stores for $39.95, including MicroCenter, Office Max, Frys and Best Buy as well as on Amazon.com, Newegg.com and TigerDirect.com. Users of previous software versions will be able to upgrade to the latest one for $29.95.
