TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Insyde Software, a leading provider of Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) firmware, today announced its support of the next version of Microsoft Windows, codenamed “Windows 8” with its flagship UEFI BIOS product; InsydeH2O. This announcement comes on the heels of Microsoft’s disclosure of additional details of the next version of Windows earlier today at the Computex Taipei industry trade event.
Among the details of this disclosure related to BIOS technology, were Microsoft’s commitment to UEFI technology and expectations for fast booting PCs. Insyde Software continues its development efforts to improve BIOS boot performance and initial testing of InsydeH2O booting “Windows 8” reveals up to a 40% savings in BIOS boot times as compared to Windows 7 on the same platforms.
