Resilient Network Systems Secures over $5.0 Million in Series A Funding Led by Alsop Louie Partners

Alsop Louie Partner and BEA Founder, Bill Coleman, Joins as Vice Chairman; Stewart Alsop Joins Board

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Resilient Network Systems, a security and networking company, announced today it has secured over $5.0 Million in funding by San Francisco-based Alsop Louie Partners (ALP) and angel investors. Alsop Louie Partner and BEA Systems founder, Bill Coleman, led the funding and joined Resilient’s Board as its new Vice Chairman. Stewart Alsop, ALP co-founder, also joined the Board of Directors.

“Our groundbreaking approach to secure information exchange transforms how health information can be accessed and shared,” states Kirk Loevner, CEO of Resilient and former CEO of Epocrates (NASDAQ: EPOC). “We are delighted to now have Bill and Stewart's wisdom and guidance as board members of our company.”

“Resilient is a core holding for our portfolio, which is focused on the next broad technology cycle, the Evernet. Its technology offers a new approach to health information exchange,” said Stewart Alsop. “Resilient's approach improves the Internet's ability to handle transactions that call for a much higher level of trust than we have now.” Stewart Alsop is a founding partner of Alsop Louie Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on next generation technology companies.

“I personally believe Resilient’s Trust Network is the solution to the identity and trust challenges that impede data sharing across healthcare information systems,” adds Bill Coleman. “This is a problem facing many industries as evidenced by the Obama administration’s National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace initiative.” A former Sun Microsystems executive, Coleman started BEA Systems in 1995 and as Chairman and CEO grew it to $1 Billion in annual revenue. Coleman also founded and served as Chairman and CEO of Cassatt, Inc., an enterprise cloud infrastructure software company acquired by CA, Inc. in 2009. Coleman co-founded Dest Systems and was an early employee at Visicorp. Coleman sits on the Board of Directors of Symantec Corporation, Nexant Corporation, Business Executives for National Security, and is a Commissioner of the Trilateral Commission.

Jonathan Hare, Resilient Founder and Chairman, adds, “Our new investors appreciate that trust is the missing ingredient necessary to support the large scale sharing of sensitive information that traditional technologies have repeatedly failed to deliver. Our Trust Network is the breakthrough innovation that can get data flowing and enable the kind of personalized decision support and coordination of care necessary to transform healthcare.”
