QAD and Orca IT to Launch QAD Enterprise Applications 2011 to Korean Market

Latest Product Enhancements, QAD On Demand and Automotive Manufacturing Functionality Unveiled on April 19, 2011 in Seoul

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--()--QAD Inc. (NASDAQ:QADA) (NASDAQ:QADB), a leading provider of enterprise business software and services for global manufacturing companies announced today it will launch the latest enhancements to QAD Enterprise Applications to the Korean manufacturing market at a jointly hosted event with Orca IT Co., Ltd., a Korean-based QAD partner, to be held at the Intercontinental hotel in Seoul, Korea on April 19, 2011.

QAD Enterprise Applications has been designed to support global manufacturing companies in aligning their systems and processes with their business goals and strategies to operate as a truly effective enterprise. It is available on premise, on demand or as a hybrid deployment.

Korea is an important manufacturing market for QAD in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly the automotive sector. In 2011, Korean domestic car exports are predicted to surpass $2.9 million, an increase of 4.7 percent over 2010.1

To help Korean-based automotive companies prepare for the changing demands, Terry Onica, senior director, Automotive for QAD, will deliver a keynote presentation focused on supply chain needs of Korean automotive manufacturing companies, and, in particular, will give an overview of the Materials Management Operations Guidelines/Logistics Evaluation (MMOG/LE).

Onica will discuss how QAD Enterprise Applications assists automotive companies in achieving MMOG/LE compliance, and is fast becoming a de facto global industry standard for materials management embraced by many automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers. MMOG/LE provides best practices on today's high impact supply chain management issues such as dealing with customer volume fluctuations, capacity constraints, tier-two supplier capabilities, contingency plans, and retaining key skill sets.

“QAD has developed specific tools and services to help suppliers implement the required business systems and prepare them for both internal reviews and customer MMOG/LE audits,” explained Onica. “The need for MMOG/LE compliance may become even more important when considering the recent disruptions caused by the disasters in Japan.”

Note to Investors: This press release contains certain forward-looking statements made under the "safe harbor" provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. A number of risks and uncertainties could cause actual results to differ materially from those in the forward-looking statements. These risks include, but are not limited to, evolving demand for the company's software products and products that operate with the company's products; the company's ability to sustain license and service demand; the company's ability to leverage changes in technology; the company's ability to sustain customer renewal rates at current levels; the publication of opinions by industry and financial analysts about the company, its products and technology; the reliability of estimates of transaction and integration costs and benefits; the entry of new competitors or new offerings by existing competitors and the associated announcement of new products and technological advances by them; delays in localizing the company's products for new or existing markets; the ability to recruit and retain key personnel; delays in sales as a result of lengthy sales cycles; changes in operating expenses, pricing, timing of new product releases, the method of product distribution or product mix; timely and effective integration of newly acquired businesses; general economic conditions; exchange rate fluctuations; and, the global political environment. In addition, revenue and earnings in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software industry are subject to fluctuations. Software license revenue, in particular, is subject to variability with a significant proportion of revenue earned in the last month of each quarter. Given the high margins associated with license revenue, modest fluctuations can have a substantial impact on net income. Investors should not use any one quarter's results as a benchmark for future performance. For a more detailed description of the risk factors associated with the company and the industries in which it operates, please refer to the company's Annual Report on Form 10-K for fiscal 2010 ended January 31, 2010.
