Schindler Reacts to Continuing Fuel Price Hikes and High Commodity and Specialty Metal Costs

MORRISTOWN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Schindler Elevator Corporation, a leading global elevator and escalator manufacturer in the U.S. and Canada, today announced an immediate price increase of five percent on elevator, escalator and moving walk products. These increases are due to the continuing escalation in fuel prices and the high, double-digit rise in industry commodity and specialty metal prices over the past 12 months.

Schindler U.S. manufacturing facilities for elevators and escalators are located in Gettysburg, Pa., and Clinton, N.C. Products are shipped from these plants to installations in the U.S. and Canada.
