Telos Releases Xacta Interview Tool

Free Download is First Commercially Available Enterprise OCIL Implementation Application

ASHBURN, Va.--()--Telos® Corporation has released the first commercially available enterprise Open Checklist Interactive Language (OCIL) implementation tool.

Announced Thursday at Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Developer Days at the National Institute of Standards and Technology headquarters, the Xacta Interview Tool is now available as a free download off of the Telos web site.

“We developed the Xacta Interview Tool to help Telos cybersecurity consultants as they conduct interviews for the certification and accreditation (C&A) of systems,” said Justin Furniss, director of product management and development for Xacta® IA Manager, the company’s continuous risk management framework. “We know that other organizations have been looking to the emerging OCIL specification for how they approach testing that cannot be automated so we wanted to provide our implementation for the community to use and hopefully embrace.”

The Xacta Interview Tool Beta, a Windows desktop application, uses the emerging draft OCIL specifications, which will become part of the SCAP v 1.1 specifications later this year. Telos’ presentation at the event, titled “OCIL in the Enterprise,” suggested revisions to the draft and also provided a demonstration of the tool to show how OCIL is currently being used by the Telos team. The Xacta Interview Tool will provide seamless integration of technical and non-technical results into the Xacta IA Manager framework which should dramatically reduce the amount of time it takes to perform a C&A.
